Who are you.... truly?
My inspiration to write this post today came from two sources. One was a lecture I listened to recently from Cynthia James, who is an amazing woman. The other was from a conversation I had with a very good friend of mine.
Who are we? Or more precisely, who did we come here to be? It has taken me until about one year ago to figure that one out for myself. I finally was able to pinpoint my purpose in life and find my own voice, just in time to squeak it in before my half century mark. Oof!
Some people, I am certain, find it long before I did. I also know for a fact that even though many folks figure it out, they seem to be afraid to feel it, express it and live it.
Let's look at it from this perspective; what if, by not being who you are meant to be, you are doing the world a disservice? What if, by hiding yourself in the shadows, there may be dozens, hundreds or perhaps even thousands of people who will not receive the benefits from your gift?
Also keeping in mind that our thoughts have a powerful impact on our health and by helping others, we more often than not, find golden nuggets for our own life. Isn't it funny how the "right" people show up for us at the "right" time. Coincidence? I think not.
There certainly seems to be a huge advantage to having someone we trust drawing us out, cheering us on and standing by our side when the spotlight is shining right on us.
Try something new today... Stretch out. Take several very deep breathes. Step out of your comfort zone for two minutes. Laugh at yourself out loud. Silence that inner critical voice. Be larger than life. Find your purpose and hold on to it until it becomes who you are.
Above all, enjoy life, have fun and laugh often. :)
